Current areas of focus include:
– Provide harm reduction services at outdoor recreation festivals
– Compile research database of existing wilderness, austere, and disaster psychiatric care
– Connecting a worldwide network of physicians, researchers, investors with experience in psychiatric care in wilderness settings
– Develop standard-of-care guidelines for wilderness psychiatry
Reduce Harm
Outdoor activities are the lifeblood of wilderness psychiatry. Providing services, including drug impurity testing and opioid overdose reversal medication, at no cost helps promote a safe and enlightening experience for all wilderness and outdoor sports enthusiasts
Provide Medical Guidance
Utilizing existing literature and connecting specialists from a multidisciplinary background, we aim to develop guidelines establishing a standard-of-care for psychiatric care in wilderness, austere, and disaster settings
Education
We are compiling a vast database of all wilderness psychiatric literature.
This is a big tent kind of project.
This database will serve to education practitioners and provide evidence for establishing standards of practice.
